Overview

Hanna Pohla's research emerged from a desire to better understand the journey of exiting prostitution and to explore how it can be supported through the principles of design justice. The aim was to understand the exit process from the perspective of lived experience; to map experience-based intervention opportunities; and to develop and test a solution that is both useful, supportive, and visually engaging.

My role was to design the supporting visually engaging A5 leaflet..

Process

The leaflets theme is socially important, but can appear very heavy. For the serious theme I focused on creating warmth and softness with the design. I used gradients and warm tones and avoided full black for the design to be inviting.

I started by analyzing her mockup graphics. Most pages needed multple iterations that we ideated together with Hanna Pohla.
